Charter Schools Are Good and Bad
To follow up on the previous post. . . This Stanford study Credo Exec. Summary points out that schools do not succeed just because they are chartered. How has Nashville decided to evaluate our charters? Will we end up like Denver which has created a successful group of charters or like Ohio where charters perform at a lower level than the non-chartered schools. Hopefully our evaluation will not just rely on the current standardized testing regime. We demand too little of our students and confirm that in the tests we utilize. Standardized tests also fail to assess all metrics of success.
